Why is Signature Resizing So Hard?
Uploading a signature is often more difficult than uploading a photo. Most government exams (like SSC CGL, CHSL, and UPSC) have very strict and small file size limits, usually between 10KB and 20KB.
The Problem: If you scan your signature in high quality, the file size becomes too large (e.g., 50KB). If you compress it using normal tools, the text becomes blurry and unreadable, leading to form rejection.
PhotoKB's Solution: We use a specialised "High-Contrast Compression" method. This reduces the file size to under 20KB while keeping the black/blue ink lines sharp and legible against the white background.

Frequently Asked Questions
Should I use Black or Blue ink?
Most exams (especially SSC) strictly prefer Black Ink on white paper for better contrast. However, check your specific exam notification. Our tool works with both colors and ensures high readability.
My signature looks small in the preview. Is that okay?
yes. To fit a signature into 10KB, the pixel dimensions often need to be reduced (e.g., width 400px). As long as the text is readable when zoomed in, the computer scanning software will accept it.
Can I convert a photo of my signature to JPG?
Yes. If you took the photo on an iPhone (HEIC) or have a PNG screenshot, just upload it here. We automatically convert it to a standard JPG format required by all government portals.
